Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counsellors to join our vibrant summer camp team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children.Ideal candidates are passionate about working with children and committed to creating a safe, fun, and educational experience for all campers. Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is a plus.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with children during camp activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Lead and facilitate a variety of recreational and educational activities tailored to different age groups
- Assist in planning daily schedules that include arts and crafts, sports, team-building exercises, and outdoor adventures
- Provide support for campers' individual needs, including tutoring or educational assistance when required
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and inclusivity among campers
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress and behavior (as appropriate)
- Maintain cleanliness of activity areas and ensure all equipment is used safely and responsibly
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating good behavior, enthusiasm, and leadership
Skills
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, including tutoring or teaching roles
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to plan engaging activities that promote learning and fun
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of campers
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and handle physical activity involved in camp duties
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development
Pay: $17.75-$30.67 per hour
